Verse 9.1
Once the Blessed staying at the monastery founded by Anathapindika, Jeta Park, near the town of Savatthi.Un day the Queen Mallika visited the Blessed One, having approached, she paid homage to the Blessed One and sat apart on one side.


Verse 9.2
Then she said: O Blessed what is the reason, what is the cause for there to be in this world, women's unappealing, ugly and hard, who are poor, who some good, some happiness, little power?


Verse 9.3
Also, O Blessed One, what is the reason, what is the cause for there to be in this world, women's unappealing, ugly and hard, but who are rich, that much good, much happiness, lots of power?


Verse 9.4
Also, O Blessed One, what is the reason, what is the cause for there to be in this world of women to look very charming, elegant, nice to see, who have excellent skin color, but who are poor, who have little good, little happiness, little power?


Verse 9.5
Also, O Blessed One, what is the reason, what is the cause for there to be in this world of women to look beautiful, elegant, nice to see, who have excellent color skin, which are rich, who have much much, much happiness and lots of power)


Verse 9.6
The Blessed One replied: Suppose, O Mallika, whether in this world, a woman irritated, which often gets angry. Because even a small provocation, she gets angry and agitated. She is upset and obstinate and manifest anger, hatred and discontent.


Verse 9.7
It is not generous to the monks and Brahmans. It did not used to offer food and drink. It does not give clothing, transportation, garlands, perfumes, ointments, furniture, lamps, etc..


Verse 9.8
In addition, she is jealous. She envies the profits than others realize. She is jealous of honor, respect, reverence, homage, gifts received by others. She feels sad (because of the success of others) and she desires (success of others).


Verse 9.9
Then such a woman after his death, when reborn somewhere, reborn with a unappealing, ugly and hard in a poor state possessing little good, little bit of happiness and power.

9.10 (Regarding the latter,) O Mallika, suppose there is, in this world, a woman irritated, which often gets angry. Because even a small provocation, she gets angry and agitated. She is upset and obstinate and manifest anger, hatred and discontent.


Verse 9.11
However, she is generous to the religious and the Brahmins. It offers food and drink. It provides clothing, transportation, garlands, perfumes, ointments, furniture, lamps, etc..


Verse 9.12
It is not jealous. It does not envy the profits than others realize. It is not jealous of the honor, respect, reverence, the tribute, gifts received by others. She feels no sadness (because of the success of others) and she does not covet (the success of others).


Verse 9.13
Then such a woman after his death, when reborn somewhere, reborn with a unappealing, ugly and hard, but in a rich state, with much good, much happiness and many power.

9.14 (Regarding the third case,) O Mallika, suppose there is anyone in this world, a woman who is not irritated and does not often get angry. Even because of great provocation, it does gets angry nor agitated. She is not upset or obstinate and expresses neither anger nor hatred, nor discontent.


Verse 9.15
However, it is not generous to the religious and the Brahmins. It did not used to offer food and drink. It does not give clothing, transportation, garlands, perfumes, ointments, furniture, lamps, etc..

She is jealous. She envies the profits than others realize. She is jealous of honor, respect, reverence, homage, gifts received by others. She feels sad (because the success of others) and she desires (success of others).

Then such a woman after his death, when reborn somewhere, reborn with a charming appearance, elegant, pleasant to behold, with excellent color, but in a poor state, with little well, some happiness and little power.

9.18 (On the fourth case,) O Mallika, suppose there is anyone in this world, a woman who is not irritated and does not often get angry. Even because of great provocation, it does not get angry or agitated. She is not upset or obstinate and expresses neither anger nor hatred, nor discontent.


Verse 9.19
Also, she is generous to the religious and the Brahmins. She used to offer food and drink. It provides clothing, transportation, garlands, perfumes, ointments, furniture, lamps, etc..


Verse 9.20
It is not jealous. It does not envy the profits that others realize it is not jealous of honor, respect, reverence, homage, gifts received by others. She feels no sadness (because of the success of others) and she does not covet (success others).


Verse 9.21
Then such a woman after his death, when reborn somewhere, reborn with a charming appearance, elegant, pleasant to behold, with excellent color and a rich state, with much Well, much happiness and lots of power.


Verse 9.22
These, O Mallika, reasons and causes for there to be in this world, women's unappealing, ugly and hard, who are poor, who have little good, little bit of happiness and power.


Verse 9.23
These, O Mallika, reasons and causes for there, in this world, women's unappealing, ugly and hard, but who are rich, with lots of good, much happiness, lots of power.


Verse 9.24
These, O Mallika, reasons and causes for there to be in this world, women's charming appearance, elegant, nice to see, which have excellent color, but who are poor, who have little good, little happiness, little power.


Verse 9.25

These, O Mallika, reasons and causes for there to be in this world, women's charming appearance elegant and pleasing to see that excellent color, who are rich, with lots of good, much happiness and lots of power.


Verse 9.26
That said, the queen said to the Blessed Mallika: Of course, O Blessed One, in the previous life, I annoyed, I put myself often angry. Because even a small provocation, I was angry and agitated. I was annoyed, and stubborn, and I was expressing the anger, hatred, discontent. Therefore, in this life I look so ugly, ugly and hard.


Verse 9.27
Obviously, O Blessed One, in previous life I was generous to the monks and Brahmans. I offered to eat and drink. I gave clothes, transportation, garlands, perfumes, ointments, furniture, lamps, etc.. Therefore, in this life, I have so much, so much happiness and so much power.


Verse 9.28
Obviously, O Blessed One, in the previous life, I was not jealous. I did not envy the profits of other achievements. I was not jealous of honor, respect, reverence, homage and gifts received by others. I felt no sadness (because of the success of others), and I did not covet (the success of others). Therefore, in this life, I have so much power.


Verse 9.29
In our royal palace, O Blessed One, there are servants belonging to the noble caste, caste Brahmins and the caste of merchants. For them, I am the mistress. Today, O Blessed One, I stay calm, often without getting angry. Even because of great provocation, I am not angry nor agitated me. I will not be offended or stubborn, I do not manifest with anger or hate or discontent.


Verse 9.30
I am generous to the monks and Brahmans. I will offer food and drink. I give clothing, transportation, garlands, perfumes, ointments, furniture, lamps, etc.. I do not feel sad (because of the success of others), I do not covet (the success of others).


Verse 9.31
Wonderful, Blessed, wonderful, Blessed. It is as if we straightened that has been spilled, discovered what was hidden, was leading to lost or brought a lamp in the darkness so that those who have eyes to see.


Verse 9.32
Thus, Blessed has made clear the doctrine in many ways. I take refuge in the Blessed One, the Teaching (Dhamma) and the Community of disciples (sangha). May the Blessed One accept me as well want to lay disciple from this day until the end of my life.
